The Reports & Alerts page has three sections: First is the "SMTP Settings" section, where you input and save your SMTP settings for use with your alerts. Next is the "Admin Report" section, where you can set up a daily summary email reporting on the status for all your backup accounts. Last is the "User Reports", where you can set up daily summary email reports to end users.
SMTP Settings
This is where you will fill out your SMTP settings. Once you save the settings, you can verify they work by using the "Test Settings" button to send yourself a test email; an alert will show if it was successful or not.
Need help with your SMTP settings? You can look up some standard SMTP settings in our List of SMTP mail server configs. If your mail server is not listed or the stated SMTP settings do not work, we can provide assistance with finding working configs.
Admin Report
The Admin Report section allows you to set up a daily or weekly scheduled email that summarizes the status for each backup client backing up under your Brand(s). This email can be sent to multiple CC recipients; enter one at a time into the "CC:" field, and then click "Add email". They will show as modals below the "CC:" field.
You are able to change which days of the week, or set the email to be sent on one day a month. For the delivery time, this is in UTC, so please adjust the time you want the summary email to be sent accordingly. We link to a time converter website to assist with this.
Enabling 'Issue Only' Reporting
This email report setting allows partners to schedule an Issue Only Admin Report email that will only summarize the status for each backup client backing up under your Brand(s) experiencing issues such as warnings, errors, or that have not connected for backup for longer than the client's 'No-Connect' setting.
To turn on this reporting, navigate to the Reports & Alerts tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page, then select the Admin Report tab. Fill out your reporting preferences in the form if you have not already, then simply check the 'Select for Issue Only Report' checkbox.
You will have two options for your Issue Only Admin Report email.
Still send a report when no issues present will send the report at the scheduled time even if there are no issues present. This will not have any computer info displayed and will have a message saying that no computers are experiencing errors, warnings, or not connecting within the client's 'No-Connect' window.
Do not send a report when no issues present will not send an email at all if it finds no computers experiencing errors, warnings, or not connecting within the client's 'No-Connect' window.
User Reports
The User Reports section allows you to create a user for email alerts. It is similar to the Users page, except instead of "+Add User", it has an "+Add Report" button, and it allows you to set a schedule for the report. The window that opens when you click "+Add Report" is identical to the window from the Users page:
Once you have filled out the email address that will receive the report, and assigned it the accounts you wish it to see on the report, save the settings. The new email address will show in the list, and it will have a "Create Schedule" button. Clicking on it will open a window to allow you to set up the report schedule, similar to the Admin Report section.
Once these are filled out and saved, the summary emails will be sent according to the set schedule.
Similar to the Users page, you can edit the list of accounts sent on the report.
Note: Users created on the Users page will show in the User Reports section. This is so you can set up summary email reports to them for the accounts they have access to.
