We’ve made restoring a disk image easy using the Image to Physical Disk restore option. This feature is located under the RESTORE tab in the left-side navigation of the Client GUI.
This option allows you to:

Select a disk image to restore from your previous backups.

Filter available images using the Date Selector—based on when they were backed up, last modified, or before/after a specific date.
Selecting a Disk Image
Click the “+” button next to a disk image to add it to the Restore Queue.
To remove a selection, click the red “-” next to the item in the queue.
Note: Only one disk image can be selected for restoration at a time.
Selecting the Destination Drive
Next, choose the Destination Disk where the disk image will be restored.
You will see a list of available disks with details such as interface type, media type, model, and available size.
⚠️ The selected drive must be the same size or larger than the disk image being restored.
Once you've selected the appropriate destination, click Restore to Disk.
Confirmation and Restore Process
You’ll now see a confirmation dialog where you should verify:

The disk image selected for restoration.

The correct destination drive.
-
Any date filters or cross-device selections.
Once confirmed, click Confirm Restore to begin.
⚠️ This process is irreversible. The selected destination disk will be fully erased and overwritten with the selected image.
After the Restore: Booting from the Restored Drive
Once the VHD has been restored to the physical disk, follow these steps to boot from it:

Restart your computer and enter the boot menu
(usually by pressingF12
,F2
,ESC
, orDelete
—varies by manufacturer). -
Select the restored drive as the boot device.

(Optional but recommended) Boot into Safe Mode on the first startup:

Press
F8
during startup (before Windows loads). -
Choose Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options.

Let Windows initialize device drivers for the new hardware environment.

After this initial boot, restart normally.
Troubleshooting: Missing Drivers
If Windows doesn't boot correctly or certain hardware isn’t working, you may need to install or repair drivers.
Option 1: Recovery Mode

Restart and press
F8
to access Advanced Boot Options, then select Repair Your Computer. -
Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.

Use the prompt to load missing drivers from a USB or network location.
Option 2: Device Manager (after a successful boot)

Open Device Manager (
Win + X > Device Manager
). -
Look for devices marked with a yellow exclamation mark.

Right-click and choose Update Driver.

If needed, download drivers from the hardware manufacturer’s website.
